Hoffman Strong At The Plate As BVA Defeats Albert Gallatin
Joshua Hoffman was dialed in at the plate on Saturday, tallying five hits and leading BVA to a 17-7 win over Albert Gallatin. Hoffman doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and doubled in the seventh.
BVA earned the victory despite allowing Albert Gallatin to score five runs in the sixth inning. Jackson Miller, Tray Coville, Kenny Lewis, and Noah Mildren all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
BVA fired up the offense in the first inning, when Hoffman doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
BVA tallied nine runs in the seventh inning. BVA big bats were led by Nicholas Stanger, Andrew Sokol, Hoffman, Max Gauden, and Ryan McGrew, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Sokol was the winning pitcher for BVA. He allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out four. Brandon Mastin, Gauden, and Hoffman all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Jace Cappellini took the loss for Albert Gallatin. He surrendered seven runs on five hits over three innings, striking out five.
BVA totaled 16 hits in the game. Hoffman, Sokol, Garrett Greco, and Stanger each collected multiple hits for BVA. Hoffman led BVA with five hits in five at bats. Cole Naylor led BVA with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
Albert Gallatin tallied eight hits. Coville and Chandler Goodwin all collected multiple hits for Albert Gallatin. Albert Gallatin tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Coville led the way with two.
