Hawks bats hot in victory over Hornets

The league leading Hayward Hawks pounded out 17 hits to cruise to a 12-2 win over the young Hornets. Hayward jumped on Hornets starter Isaac Rohde with eight hits and five runs in the first two innings to take the lead early. Matt Juza, Reid Olson, and Parker Kastner all worked in relief for the Hornets.
The Hornets answered the Hawks two-run first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first on RBI singles by Christian Lindow and Kastner. Kastner led the Hornets going 2-3 on the night, while Jamion Frazier had a double.
