Pietrantoni Throws Shutout As BVA Defeats McKeesport
Erik Pietrantoni threw a gem on Tuesday for BVA , allowing zero runs and besting McKeesport by a score of 2-0
The pitching was strong on both sides. Pietrantoni struck out nine, while McKeesport pitchers sat down three.
BVA fired up the offense in the second inning, when Andrew Sokolsingled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
A single by Duston Strom in the first inning was a positive for McKeesport.
Pietrantoni was credited with the victory for BVA . He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out nine.
Seth Olinsky took the loss for McKeesport. He went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out one.
Sokol, Tyler Steadman, Joshua Hoffman, and Max Gauden all had one hit to lead BVA . BVA stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Mason Pascoe led the way with two.
Strom went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead McKeesport in hits.
