RedSox beat Mets 16-8
The Boston Red Sox defeated the New York Mets 16 to 8 behind strong pitching from Alex Rodriguez to go along with an explosive offense. Rodriguez allowed only three hits in four innings and left the game, leading 14 - 0. Bobby Westheimer and Manny Leonardo finished up effectively. The offense was led by Lionel Martinez and Junior Ruiz, who had 4 hits each and scored or drove in eight of the sixteen runs. Rozier Pena had two doubles and drove in three runs. Jefferson Herrera and Manny Leonardo also had two hits apiece.
