Cards top CV on Ben Eppley's Grand Slam
The Cards topped CV 5-3 Tuesday evening. Mechanicsburg scored all 5 of it's runs in the 5th inning on the strength of Ben Eppley's grand slam home run. Kyle Hannon got the inning started off with a single. Ryan Gray walked before Mason Walker drove Hannon in with a single. Josh Herring was hit by a pitch loading the bases. Eppley slashed a shot down the right field line that was barely foul. He then drove the next pitch over the fence in right.
Teed Wertz pitched a complete game for the cards. He started off slowly giving up 3 runs and 5 hits in the first 3 innings. He then shut CV down on no hits the rest of the way.
