Game 14 - Snappers Walk Off To Win Title
The 2019 championship series did not disappoint as the Snappers capture their second DNL title. The Snappers set the tone right away when Mike McCarthy stole home in the bottom of the first inning to make it 1-0. Quinn Construction notched the score at one in the top if the fourth inning when Nate Thimons walked and later scored on a Colin Williamson double to deep left field. The Snappers took the lead back in the fifth inning, after a single and a walk Pat McCarthy hit a two RBI double down the right field line. Down two runs in the top of the seventh, Quinn continued to battle to get back into the game. Williamson led the inning off with a single and was followed by a walk. The next batter sac bunted and the ball was thrown away to first base to allow one run to score. Anthony Girdano then executed a safety squeeze to tie the game at 3-3. The bottom of the seventh inning started with a lead off walk to Wes White and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Mike McCarthy. Dave McCarthy was then hit by a pitch to put two runners on with one out in the inning. Pat McCarthy took an 0-2 pitch and launched it over the left field wall hitting a walk off three run home run to win the game.
