Hounds sneak past battling Braves
The Rockhounds and Braves traded blows for 9 rounds and the dogs won on decision. The Braves stormed out of the gates, touching Soriano for 3 in the first. That lead held til the third, when consecutive extra base hits by Ansoleaga, Floyd and Bridges hung 4. They small balled a couple more across in the 6 but the Braves kept fighting, narrowly missing several chances to punch the tying run across. Adam Woronoff roped a huge double in the 7th to get within 1. Zach Valdespino troubled pitchers all day and they never figured out how to keep him off the bases. He was 4-4 with an intentional walk. Michael Rivera led the offense for the dogs, touching home twice on a 3-4 day. On a day when called strikes were uncommon, Soriano K'd 5 over 6 in the win. Nichols held and Frey shut it down. Great game turned in by all.
