Three Pitchers Team Up As Scarborough Redstorm Varsity Shuts Out Deering
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity defeated Deering 20-0 on Friday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Meghan Robinson induced a groundout from Kira Siteman to finish off the game.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity was boosted by Mollie Verreault who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Verreault singled in the first, tripled in the second, homered in the third, and doubled in the fourth.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Sylvia Foley tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity tallied nine runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Scarborough Redstorm Varsity was led by Maddie Russo, Alyssa Deveaux, Jordan Crosby, AJ Swett, and Katie Roy, all driving in runs in the frame.
A single by Sophia Hill in the first inning was a positive for Deering.
