Pizzella and Giguere Combine on 1 Hit Shutout

Two Pitchers Work Together As Scarborough Redstorm Varsity Shuts Out Falmouth
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity defeated Falmouth 15-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jenna Giguere struck out Sam Malley to finish off the game.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the second inning. Scarborough Redstorm Varsity's offense in the inning came from an error on a ball put in play by Mollie Verreault and AJ Swett, a triple by Samantha Cote, a single by Jordan Crosby, a sac fly by Katie Roy, by Calynn Gendreau, and a double by Angelina Pizzella.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity got things started in the first inning when Pizzella singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity put up eight runs in the second inning. Scarborough Redstorm Varsity put the pressure on, lead by an error on a ball put in play by Verreault and Swett, a triple by Cote, a single by Crosby, a sac fly by Roy, by Gendreau, and a double by Pizzella.
One bright spot for Falmouth was a single by Birk in the fourth inning.
Pizzella earned the win for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity. The righthander went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking one. Giguere threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Cameron Birks took the loss for Falmouth. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing 13 hits and 15 runs.
