TA Ends Storms 111 Game Win Streak in 8 Innings

Friday's game against Thornton Academy was a heartbreaker for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 9-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with Thornton Academy batting in the top of the eighth when Jessica Dow homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring four runs.
The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Thornton Academy, giving up nine runs.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Sylvia Foley grounded out, scoring one run.
Thornton Academy evened things up at three in the top of the sixth inning when Claudia Pelletier doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Abigail Miner took the win for Thornton Academy. The hurler lasted seven and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out six.
Jenna Giguere took the loss for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity. The righty allowed 12 hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out seven.
