Redstorm Nabs Win Over Red Tiots Despite Early 3-Run Inning

Scarborough Redstorm Varsity claimed a 9-3 victory on Tuesday, despite a big push by South Portland in the third inning. South Portland's big inning was driven by a triple by Delaney Whitten and a single by Andrea Dimauro.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity secured the victory thanks to five runs in the fifth inning. Scarborough Redstorm Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Angelina Pizzella, Alana Sawyer, and Mollie Verreault, all driving in runs in the inning.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning. Sylvia Foley drove in one when Foley singled.
South Portland evened things up at three in the bottom of the third inning. Dimauro singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored one run for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity.

Jenna Giguere got the win for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out three. Pizzella threw four and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Mia Micucci took the loss for South Portland. The hurler allowed 11 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out five.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity racked up 11 hits in the game. AJ Swett, Verreault, Pizzella, and Alyssa Deveaux all had multiple hits for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity. Deveaux, Pizzella, Verreault, and Swett each managed two hits to lead Scarborough Redstorm Varsity.
South Portland tallied eight hits in the game. Ella Nickerson, Chloe Grant, and Julia Connors all collected multiple hits for South Portland.
