Mudcats Beat Snappers With Four Run Fifth

Luke Hils and Dan Heinecke were locked in a pitchers duel through four innings. The tide turned in the Mudcats favor in the 5th. Luke Hils allowed the Snappers to load the bases in the 5th inning with one out. Quinn Construction went to their bullpen and called on Greg Frederick to bail them out of the jam. Frederick did just that as he struck out Jon Leber for the second out and then got Zach Gray to hit into an inning ending line drive to shortstop Zack Miller. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the same situation occurred. Logan Simmons and Greg Frederick reached base and the Snappers went to their bullpen. They called on their ace Josh Lapiana but Lapiana was not as fortunate. Tarran Senay greeted Lapiana with a run scoring single to right making it 2-1. Jim Pasquine followed with a shot off the center field fence that brought home a run making it 3-1. AJ Olasz then laced a single to score Senay and Pasquine upping the lead to 5-1. The Snappers went quietly in the 6th and 7th as Frederick didnt allow a baserunner in his 2.2 innings of work.
