High Heat Wins Battle of 0-2's at Week 2 Tournaments
High Heat avoided the negative point for the day with a 3-1 victory over The Abyss, who will get the negative point as a result. Maxx Melnyk and Bernie Riley each hit a solo home run in the third inning, and Melnyk drove in a run in the fourth with a single to extend the lead to 3-1. Toby Kennedy put The Abyss ahead early with a solo homer in the first, but that is all The Abyss could get across the plate. Riley shut The Abyss lineup down the rest of the way, as he scattered six hits and allowed just the first inning run, while striking out 1 and walking none. Jake Kennedy tossed another solid game for The Abyss, but was unable to get any offensive support again.
