Scarborough Takes High Scoring Game Over Gorham 13-8

The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where Scarborough HS Softball came out on top against Gorham, 13-8.
Gorham captured the lead in the second inning. An error scored one run for Gorham.
Scarborough HS Softball took the lead for good with nine runs in the third inning. In the third Angelina Pizzella singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, an error scored two runs for Scarborough HS Softball, Samantha Cote doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, Jamie Kemper doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, AJ Swett doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Calynn Gendreau singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Pizzella singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Natalie Moynihan earned the win for Scarborough HS Softball. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs while striking out five. Pizzella threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Riley Grant took the loss for Gorham. The bulldog surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over three innings, striking out two.
Scarborough HS Softball scattered 17 hits in the game. Katie Roy, Pizzella, Moynihan, Cote, Gendreau, and Swett each had multiple hits for Scarborough HS Softball. Moynihan, Pizzella, and Roy each collected three hits to lead Scarborough HS Softball.
Gorham racked up seven hits. Sophia Diphilippo and Kyleah Mack all managed multiple hits for Gorham.
