Massabesic Captures Early Lead & Defeats Scarborough 7 -1

Scarborough HS Softball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-1 loss to Massebesic on Friday. Massebesic scored on a home run by Ella Barden and a home run by Candice Daigle in the first inning.
The Scarborough HS Softball struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Massebesic, giving up seven runs.
Massebesic opened up scoring in the first inning. Massebesic scored two runs when Barden homered.
Massebesic scored three runs in the sixth inning. Katelyn Boissonneault, Ella Donovan, and Barden each had RBIs in the big inning.
Emily Antrim earned the victory in the pitcher's circle for Massebesic. Antrim allowed two hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking zero.
Meghan Robinson took the loss for Scarborough HS Softball. The righty surrendered seven runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Massebesic smacked two home runs on the day. Barden went yard in the first inning. Daigle went for the long ball in the first inning.
Angelina Pizzella and Samantha Cote each collected one hit to lead Scarborough HS Softball.
Massebesic totaled nine hits. Donovan, Daigle, and Barden each managed multiple hits for Massebesic.
