Maganza sharp on the hill to lead Cubs to victory!
Cubs starter Mike Maganza hurled 6 shutout innings to lead the Cubs. He kept the potent Brewers bats quiet with sharp control and good fielding behind him. David Treat closed out the final 3 frames and only allowed an unearned run.
Casey Rihn was brilliant at short (and hit a homer), Jose Rodriquez made a few good plays at third base, Jaime Miranda dug out a few errant throw at first base, and Josh Morey tracked down a few balls in centerfield. With the bats, Oscar (birthday boy) Maciel drove in 4 runs with a pair of doubles, Rodriguez had a couple of hits and was on base all 4 times, Kirk Mayer had a pair of hits and a couple of RBI's, David Treat had a pair of hits, and the Martinez brothers (Al and David) each had a pair of hits.
