Kenny Gault Dominates With Complete Game 10 K Performance
Quinn Construction only had nine players but thats all they needed as they rode the arm of Kenny Gault to a 4-1 victory over the Snappers. Angelo Volomino got the Mudcats on the scoreboard in the second inning. Volomino walked, stole second, and came home on Devin Mateys safety squeeze bunt to make it 1-0. The Mudcats added a run on in the third as Eric Morrison and Jim Pasquine walked to lead off the inning. Morrison scored on a Bert Kovalsky single to up the lead to 2-0. The Snappers cut the lead in half in the bottom half of the third. Mike McCarthy singled, swiped second and came home on Pat McCarthys single, making it 2-1. Thats all the Snappers could muster as Gault retired the last 14 out of 15 batters he faced. Gault finished on a high note by striking out the side in the 7th giving him 10 Ks on the night. Tarran Senay blasted his league leading 4th home run of the season in the 5th inning and Kovalsky chipped in 3 hits to lead the Mudcats offensively.
