Dylan Pounds Complete Game 4 Hitter Moves South Park To 13-0
Tonight figured to be a good matchup with 2 of the league's top teams and 2 veteran pitchers going head to head. South Park starting pitcher Dylan Pounds and Quinn Constructions' Luke Hills worked at a feverish pace as the game concluded in 87 minutes with South Park winning 4-1. Pounds scattered 4 hits while fanning 7 in earning the complete game victory, his 5th win of the 2023 campaign. The South Park offense struck first in the 3rd inning plating 3 runs. A walk to Ryan Dodson and consecutive singles by rookie Adam Weber and Dylan Kugler loaded the bases. With one out Edberg Dominguez beat out an infield single to score the first run and back to back walks to Luis Gonzalez and Mac Ciocco brought home 2 more runs to make it 3-0 South Park. South Park tacked on one more in the 4th when Jean Santos walked and advanced to second on an error. Kugler would drive him home for the final run. Quinn Construction would try to rally in the 5th when lead off batter Angelo Volomino would reach on a booted ball at shortstop and eventually score on an Eric Link ground out. South Park would cut the rally short by taking advantage of a base running mistake to get out of the inning. South Park remain unbeaten at 13-0 and Quinn Construction falls to 10-3 but remain right in the thick of things for the top spot.
