River Bandits Fall To Dragons After A Big Seventh Inning
Cincinnati Dragons scored five runs in the seventh inning, which helped them defeat Miami Valley River Bandits 7-1 on Thursday at Warren County Sports Park at Union Village.
A ground out by Pererson put Miami Valley River Bandits on the board in the bottom of the first.
Cincinnati Dragons captured the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second after Kyle Hogan scored after tagging up, and Rob Lutz singled, each scoring one run.
Cincinnati Dragons scored five runs on five hits in the top of the seventh inning. Pete Lommen singled, scoring one run, Jason Murray doubled, scoring one run, Daniel Cannady doubled, scoring two runs, and Joe Zirkelbach singled, scoring one run.
Pete Lommen earned the win for Cincinnati Dragons. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking three. Jeff Cherry took the loss for Miami Valley River Bandits. The starting pitcher went seven innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits, striking out three and walking five.
Mike Sosebee led Miami Valley River Bandits with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Pererson led the team with one run batted in. Miami Valley River Bandits turned one double play in the game.
