South Park Slips Past Greenfield For A 4-2 Win

South Park used a 7th inning rally to come out on top by the score of 4-2. Greenfield struck first off of South Park starter Ryan Morrow who was making his DNL debut. After walking Nick Grice, Morrow was the victim of the very short porch in right field as Bryan McCann popped one over for a 2 run homer and the lead. Morrow would settle in and retire the side in order in the second and third innings. South Park evened the score in the 3rd when after consecutive one out singles by Anthony Monaco and Adam Weber. Luis Gonzalez would fly out, advancing Monaco to 3rd. Weber broke like he was stealing and the catchers throw would go into the outfield allowing Monaco to score from 3rd. Matt Mish would bring home Weber with a single to tie it at 2 and the score remained that way until the top of the 7th. In the 7th, Gonzalez would lead off and got hit by a pitch, Mish would pop up for the first out and bring David Monaco to the plate. Monaco singled to right and as the right fielder charged the ball it was misplayed as he slipped, bringing Gonzalez all the way around for the go ahead run and putting Monaco on third. Monaco would score an insurance run on an Adam Dodson RBI groundout. Jose Moreno would set Greenfield down in order to finish off the game. Moreno picked up the win in relief of Ryan Morrow, going 4 innings and surrendering just 1 hit and 2 walks in his 4 innings of work. Greenfield was led offensively by McCann?s home run and Zack Sprinkle notched 2 singles. The Monaco brothers paced the South Park offense with Anthony racking up 3 singles and a walk and David with 2 singles. Mish also had 2 hits for South Park as well as an RBI.
