South Park Rolls Past Pterodactyl's In Six Innings

South Park rolled past a depleted Plum lineup in taking a 13-3 six inning victory. South Park would score one in the top of the first after a single by leadoff batter Anthony Monaco and a Jean Santos double would bring Monaco all the way home. In the bottom of the first South Park would promptly give Plum the lead after back to back errors. The score would remain 2-1 Plum until South Park would bat around in a six run 4th inning highlighted by doubles from Luis Gonzalez, Vinnie Markulin and a Jean Santos 3 run blast to left. South Park would send 9 men to the plate in the 5th inning as well to keep the momentum going. After back to back walks to Adam Weber and Adam Dodson, Markulin would triple to score both. Anthony Monaco would double to bring Markulin home. A walk to Dylan Kugler and a Matt Mish infield single would allow David Monaco to drive in 2 runs with a base knock and put the game out of reach. South Park starting pitcher David Gallagher proved to be effective in his Daily News debut, going 4 1/3 and surrendering one earned run, and striking out 5 while scattering 4 hits. Luis Gonzalez making his second appearance in his newly acquired relief role went 1 2/3 giving up no hits and fanning 2. Dylan Kugler kept his hot start to the 2024 season going racking up 3 hits along with Adam Weber also notching 3. The top highlight for Plum was when Pete Spynda made his 2024 season debut with the start in right field. It is possible that the 74 year older may have become the oldest ever to appear in a league game that goes back to 1929. South Park moves to 5-1 on the season, setting up a Monday night showdown with first place Aul Bat Company.
