Rodman Raiders one step closer to clinching division

Rodman, NY – June 8, 2024 – It was a chilly day for baseball in Rodman, New York, but the stars of South Jefferson Little League were out in fine force for a showdown for first place in the U12 division. The Rodman Raiders hosted the Adams Cubs in a late-season matchup to decide the regular season championship, ultimately emerging victorious with an 8-1 win.

Braydon Burdick led the Raiders with an impressive pitching performance, racking up 12 strikeouts. The Raiders' defense was stellar, with outstanding plays made by Cooper Waite and Colton Scales. On the Cubs' side, pitching efforts were led by Abe Pacella and Jackson Spaulding, while Bryce Worden had a solid hit up the middle.

"This win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team," said Matt Burdick of the Rodman Raiders. "Braydon’s pitching was exceptional, and our defense really stepped up when it mattered most."

Despite the loss, the Adams Cubs displayed commendable effort and sportsmanship. "We gave it our all, and we'll come back stronger in the playoffs," remarked Mark Pacella of the Cubs.

The regular season concludes this Tuesday night, with both teams gearing up for the playoffs starting next Friday. Fans are encouraged to come out and support their local athletes as they vie for the championship title.
