Oilers Grabs Lead Late For Victory Over Middle country biscu
Oilers snatched the lead late in their 6-5 victory over Middle country biscuits on Sunday. The game was tied at five in the top of the seventh when Chris Brooks doubled, scoring one run.
Oilers opened the scoring in the first after Brooks singled, scoring one run.
Oilers added two runs in the second after Nick Oelcher singled.
Middle country biscuits flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to take a 5-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Maina that drove in three.
Oilers tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a single by Patrick Dallas, and a double by Jacob Taromina.
Charles Aurandt earned the win for Oilers. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking none. D?Angelo took the loss for Middle country biscuits. The reliever went three innings, giving up three runs on five hits, striking out two and walking two. James Packowzki started on the hill for Oilers. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two. JC led things off on the bump for Middle country biscuits. They surrendered four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.
Oilers piled up nine hits in the game. Brooks, Oelcher, and Gus Mejia each collected two hits for Oilers. Brooks and Oelcher each drove in two runs for Oilers. Anthony Graziano stole two bases. Oilers stole four bases in the game. Oilers turned one double play in the game. Oilers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Anthony Logiaco made the most plays with seven.
Maina drove the middle of the lineup, leading Middle country biscuits with three runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Decoursey, PlayerA, Maina, D?Angelo, Anthony Rizzo, and Eagler each collected one hit for Middle country biscuits.
