BREWERS WIN AND MOVE WITHIN ONE GAME OF A PLAYOFF SPOT!
The Metro Brewers season continued on Friday night as they came out on top with a 6-1 victory over the Halifax Pelham Canadians. With the win, the Brew Crew improves to 11-13 on the season making the magic number one as they look to capture their first playoff berth in club history.
Ace starter Ben Marsh was once again absolutely spectacular for the Brewers as he pitched a complete game two hitter while bringing the no-no into the 5th inning. Marsh finished the game with seven innings pitched, allowing two hits, just one unearned run, not giving up a single walk and striking out twelve Halifax batters to close out what was truly an amazing performance.
The Brewers offense was very much alive on the night putting up six runs on eight hits. Junior callup Ryan Adams led the way going 2-3 with a triple, a double, two RBI's and scoring one run. Rookie Nolan Bennett also went 2-3 scoring one run. Larenze Barton went 1-4 with a triple that was just a couple of feet away from being from his first homerun of the season and he also added an RBI and a run scored. Brett Hunt went 1-3 driving in a run on a long double. Larry Barton and Fulton Logan added singles each to close out the offense.
The Brewers look to make a quick turnaround tomorrow as they will once again square off with the Halifax Pelham Canadians at Mainland Commons. With a win the Brewers will clinch this year's NSSBL Playoffs. First pitch @ 12PM.
