The Chefs, recently rebranded from the Slugs, opened their 2024 campaign with a victory over High Heat in a back-and-forth slugfest ... Marra homered on his first at bat of the season and then Morris (three-run) and Davey (solo) got in on the home run action with one each to highlight a five-run third inning ... High Heat responded with three homers (two by Melnyk and one by Seth Edwards) to take a one-run lead in a five-run third inning of their own ... A Davey three-run home run capped off a four-run fourth for the Chefs to get back in front ... High Heat plated two but was ultimately held in check in the top of the fifth by Morris and the Chefs defense.
