Diablos 5 - Peaches 26

Peaches won big over Diablos 26-5 on Sunday at Schafer Field.

Peaches got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Christopher Ceccotti singled, scoring two runs, Ben Floor drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Adam Schleifer singled, scoring two runs.

Peaches added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Luis Felix singled, and Ceccotti grounded out, each scoring one run.

Peaches added one run in the third. Schleifer was struck by a pitch, making the score 9-1.

Peaches scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. R.J. Nielsen doubled, scoring one run, Stephen Protheroe hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Schleifer singled, scoring one run, and Derek Thielges homered, scoring two runs.

Peaches scored 12 runs on seven hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Josh Brener drew a walk, scoring one run, Floor drew a walk, scoring one run, Nielsen was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, None induced Protheroe to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Schleifer drew a walk, scoring one run, Thielges drew a walk, scoring one run, Spencer Laine doubled, scoring three runs, Chris Montanez singled, scoring one run, Ceccotti singled, scoring one run, and Jeremy Rhodes drew a walk, scoring one run.

Christian Wright earned the win for Peaches. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking two. Felix and Brian Nichols each appeared in relief for Peaches.

Peaches accumulated 19 hits in the game. Felix and Ceccotti were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Peaches while hitting back-to-back. Schleifer led Peaches with five runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Laine, Wright, and Thielges each collected multiple hits for Peaches. Peaches had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 12 walks for the game. Felix and Floor led the team with two walks each. Montanez stole two bases. Peaches ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game. Peaches turned one double play in the game.

Espinosa, Howie Kremer, and Fernado each collected one hit for Diablos. Espinosa and Fernado were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Diablos. Diablos turned one double play in the game.
