Peaches Charm Cobras
Consistent run production and solid defense punched the Peaches a ticket to the Championship Game.
Scoring started in the first inning with a sac fly by Wright for the Peaches, but the Cobras followed suit with a run scored on a single by Velez.
Rhodes homered in the 2nd inning followed by a bases loaded walk by Thielges.
In the 5th, Nielsen singled to score one, but Reeves for the Cobras homered driving in 2 runs, making the game close at 4-3.
The Peaches would add another run in the 6th when Wright grounded out to score the runner on 3rd.
At this point, the game was a rubber match, but the Peaches opened the flood gates in the 8th inning. Felix singled to score one, Rhodes singled to score one, Nielsen singled to score one, Montanez walked with the bases loaded, and the inning was finally crowned with a grand slam by Thielges, who went 5-5 on the day, finalizing the score at 13-3.
Peaches pitching and defense kept Cobras scoring on ice. Rhodes and Schleifer were solid in the outfield, keeping hard-hit fly balls and line drives in check. Yaroslow prevented runners from advancing on 6 plays. Laddin caught 9 solid frames, keeping the Cobras at only one stolen base all game. Wright earned the win throwing 6 innings while giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 10. Nichols came in and threw 3 1-hit innings, giving up no runs or walks, and striking out 4.
