Pitcher's duel

Tonight featured a pitchers duel between York ace Eric Foley and Jays' righthanders Elmer Benitez Jr. and Vince Novielli. Foley went the route, allowing only two hits and striking out 13, with a tidy 108 pitch effort. Benitez struck out 6 in his 5 innings of work and Novielli worked 4 shutout frames. All the York runs scored on two Steve Foley home runs. Paul Freeman and Eric Foley also had two hits. Pat McEnroe had a double and two walks for the Jays.

This Thursday, York gets another shot at the Vaughan Expos and unfortunately the sixth inning peanut race has been canceled. The first five fans will get free dinner recommendations from the esteemed York culinary expert team of Wiseman & Raddi.
