Kevin Enright hits for the cycle!
Can ya think of a better way to start a season? Probably, but this has got to rank up there. Kevin Enright came to the plate in the ninth with a double needed to complete the feat! It may have been the triple and home run he had in previous AB's that aided in the final safety. With the outfielders playing, dare I say, rather deep, Trotter's dad hit a towering pop fly that found no-man's land in short left field. "A double in the books", as they say allowed Kevin Enright to become the third Met in the team's history to accomplish the baseball rarity. Justin Collins had 3 hits including a 3-run homer in his 1st at bat. Three other Mets started the season with 3 hits a piece. Adam Geery, Derek Gray, and Gary Zelman. The Bears were chasing the Mets right out of the gate and some early suspect calls somewhat extinquished the possibility of establishing any momentum.
