Diamondbacks Rally In 9th For 35+ Debut Win
The SM Diamondbacks trailed 6-1 early on in their 35-and-over debut, but a 4-run, 9th-inning rally propelled the Snakes to the victory over the Diablos. Trailing 7-5, manager Robert Lewis shook the plastic off his warranty replacement Easton for a 2-RBI single up the middle that tied it. Dan Riley's sharp grounder skipped past the LA 3B for an error for the go-ahead run and Matt Gallant's texas leaguer singled in an insurance run. Scott Elliott pitched 5 sparkling innings of relief (4 hits, 1 unearned run, 5 Ks) for the win and starter Mike Thompson aided the cause with a 3-RBI double in the 5th plus a circus diving catch in foul territory as a second baseman to rob a hit and end the game. Tim LeCoz was 2-for-3 with a 2-RBI double to pace the Diablos.
