Mudcats score late to pick up victory!

The Gators took a 6-1 lead into the bottom of the 8th as the 2-5 Gator hitters of Gonzalez, Chavarria, Pichardo and Alfano seemed to be on base every time. The Gators starting pitcher, Delgado had gone 6 terrific innings, and the 'cats were looking for a spark. With Delgado gone, in the bottom of the 8th Marcos Perez, Michael McNeely and Seth Craig singled and with two out Pat Armstrong drove in 2 with a double. 6-3 score going to the bottom of the 9th. An error, a walk, a ground out got the score to 6-4. Then with 2 outs Marcos Perez singled to keep the inning alive, he then stole 2nd base to put the tying run at 2nd base, and Michael McNeely drove home the tying run with a 2-run, 2-strike single. As Mudcats relief pitcher Dave White kept the Gators from adding any runs (5 innings of shutout ball), the bottom of the 10th was started by a Seth Craig double, which was followed by an Armstrong single. With the winning run on 3rd, a lineout and strikeout added to the drama. Armstrong stole 2nd base and the Gators intentionally walked Mike Cahill to load the bases. Bob Affrunti worked the count full, and on the 3-2 pitch, took the pitch just outside to force in the winning run. A good comeback for the Mudcats, who were led by Dave White with 5 shutout relief innings and a great diving catch in CF, Marcos Perez and Michal McNeely with 3 hits a piece, and Seth Craig with 4 hits including the big 10th inning lead off double.
