9th Inning Comebacks Highlight Dbacks Win Over Easton
One comeback deserved another in a wild morning affair in Glendale as Team Easton scored 5 runs in the top of the 9th, highlighted by a 2-run homer by Roy Lozano, only to see the Diamondbacks score 4 runs all with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. DH Jason McClure hit a walk-off RBI single up the middle scoring just-inserted pinch runner Mike Thompson (starting pitcher) to complete the second comeback. With the Dbacks down to their last out, Derek Moore ripped a 2-RBI double to left to keep the rally going. For the Snakes, Eddie Barbini scored 4 runs with 2 hits, Moore was 3-for-5, catcher Buck Grayson 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and McClure going 3-for-4 with 4 RBI. RF Matt Gallant also reached base 3 times and was 2-for-3. Easton's Gun-for-Hire Eric Orue went 4-for-6 with a home run, but was touched for 6 runs as the starting pitcher, mostly hits by former teammates of his from the other 75 teams he's played for over the years.
