Gallant, Metoyer Key Dbacks 4th Straight Win
It was a throwback pitching duel between Diablos' crafty southpaw Dave Bean and veteran Snakes righty Robert Lewis. Although Bean quieted the potent Diamondback bats for 7 innings, the SM gang relied on CF Keith Metoyer and RF Matt Gallant to deliver the big hits in the Dbacks fourth straight victory. Gallant went 2-for-4 with 3 ribbies, including a 2-run single off Bean in the 7th. Metoyer was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and launched a 2-run bomb to left in the 9th for insurance. Lewis went the distance, scattering 10 singles, walking 1, striking out 5. C Buck Grayson continued his torrid hitting with a 2-for-3 day, including a double and he stole third base twice. Glen Reyes led the Diablos, going 2-for-4 with a RBI. The DBacks played errorless defense in the triumph including a diving catch by LF Daniel Lewis.
