A's Arms, Bats, Gloves Topple Tigers
The A's did it with their arms - limiting the Tigers to three runs with another strong pitching performance from starter Pat Estrada, followed by stellar relief from Joe Pita and Matt Bellner. The A's bats featured solid hitting up and down the lineup, led by four hits each from Dave Becker and Greg Whittaker, and three hits from Billy Anderson, including a triple. The A's also sparkled with the leather, playing their first errorless game of the season.
