Craig walk off HR in the 11th wins one for the Mudcats.
Woozy Seth Craig, who was so dizzy he didn't even know if he could bat, clubbed a walk off homer in the bottom of the 11th to bring home the victory for the Mudcats.
The Mudcats took an early 2-0 lead, but the Hurricanes scored 5 runs in the 3rd, keyed by a Scott Bailey 2-run double. The 'canes added another in the 4th, which the 'cats got back in the bottom half, but the 'canes got 2 more in the 5th and another in the 6th on an Adam Geery homer. So the Hurricanes took a 9-3 lead as the 'cats batted in the bottom of the 6th. The 'cats scored 6 runs to tie the game as McNeely went deep followed by 6 singles and a hit batter. Mudcats reliever Mike Cahill was really good from the 7th - 10th as he held the Hurricanes off the board. But Hurricanes reliever, Larry Kowaleski was just as impressive, keeping the Mudcats from scoring. Dave Becker came into pitch the 11th for the Mudcats and kept the score tied going into the bottom of the 11th. Kowaleski had thrown 5 shutout innings, but Craig hit a HR to lead off the bottom of the 11th to give the Mudcats the victory. There were many fine defensive plays, with Mudcat CF Ben Agatep leading the way with a full extension diving grab to rob a 'cane of a sure double. Mudcats secondbaseman Dave Becker made a diving stop in the hole and threw a runner out from his back. And Hurricanes CF Devin Ellis kept the game alive in the 10th with a fine running catch in the gap.
For the Mudcats, Marcos Perez, Diego Ramirez and Dave Becker had 3 hits apiece. For the Hurricanes, Dave O'Dud had 4 hits, and Eric Sterz chipped in with 3.
