Jackrabbits hold on vs Aztecs to take game 1 of finals
Game 1 of the finals was missing the star power of the #1 overall pick and MVP Kyle McCloskey for the Aztecs and the #3 overall pick Pat Reddington for the Jackrabbits. The game was extremely defensive early as it took the Aztecs 7 minutes to score their first bucket, which was by their captain and leader Duffy Barrett who nearly willed his team to victory alone with 33 of his teams 53 points. Barrett was finishing tough layup after tough layup followed by multiple humongous 3 pointers to cut the double digit lead to 6 at one point in the second half. However, the constant dominance of the offensive glass by Adam Haun leading to a clean look for player of the game Dave Homsher opened the lead back up to 9 and the Jackrabbits were able to hit free throws. Homsher lead all scorers with 34 as the Jackrabbits constantly found him in good spots on the floor. Game 2 will be played Tuesday at 8:00 pm, likely indoors due to the weather conditions. Will the Aztecs even the score or will the Jackrabbits take a commanding 2-0 lead?
