FGCU freezes Virginia for first win
FGCU needed a spark and player of the game Dan Ritterson provided that, knocking down tough shots early in an extremely windy game where many others struggled to shoot. Virginia had stretches of getting inside buckets but then could not catch easy passes inside for layups, which then turned into uncontested layups for FGCU. FGCU consistently won every 50/50 ball and showed much more heart and toughness throughout the game than Virginia, who now has 2 consecutive losses and has a lot of questions to ask as a unit.
