Virginia wins at buzzer in triple OT 59-56 In a very highly anticipated game, undefeated Richmond came out locking all windows and doors with a 15-4 and 20-9 lead, smothering Virginia. A few tough buckets then a momentum changing offensive rebound and miracle throw up that went in the basket from Josh Barson cut the lead to 20-15 and Virginia continued rolling. The game was tied 22-22 at half, Richmond took a 10 point lead late and tried to hold the ball, which backfired as Virginia hit 4 3 pointers in their next 5 possessions to claim the lead. Virginia took a 6 point lead with under 1 minute but missed free throws and a buzzer beater by Bill Behan lead to overtime. In OT both teams went scoreless with 2 possessions for Richmond and 1 total possession for Virginia. Both teams elected to resume the game at a later date and go watch the Sixers get destroyed by the Raptors. The game will resume in double overtime with a jump ball. After a scoreless double OT with Richmond holding nearly the entire 3 mins, the same happened in triple OT where Virginia then got a rebound with 5 seconds left. After an early double team the ball swung to Ryan Smith who hit a buzzer beater game winning 3 pointer that Virginia badly needed.
