Georgetown remains hot with tight win over Virginia
A game that both teams needed to separate from the middle of the pack began with first round pick Alex Corry re-injuring his shoulder in the first 5 minutes of the game, keeping him out for the remainder. Virginia scrapped and had leads throughout the game, but the swarming defense and length of Georgetown proved to be too much leading to 15 Virginia turnovers during the game, a season high. Georgetown held on down the stretch when Virginia had a couple chances to win the game, but sealed it with defensive stops and free throws. Player of the game Vince Mclwain had 17 points and was a constant presence in the middle of the middle of the paint controlling the offense for the Hoyas, who have now quietly won 4 in a row.
