Virginia barely hangs on in defensive battle for 1-0 lead In a game that had minimal scoring early, it remained consistent throughout. Virginia was without 2 of their top 3 picks with Ryan Smith no call no showing and Kevin Quinn recovering down the shore from a mild hangover. The game was back and forth as the size for Georgetown was frustrating Virginia and forcing tough shot after tough shot. The 2-3 zone of the Cavs seemed to contain Georgetown just enough as this game went down to the wire. With FT's Georgetown had an opportunity to tie it down 2, making 1 of 2. After Mike "Tits" Torjman missed a FT with 2 seconds left, Georgetown threw a desperation heave that missed at the buzzer, giving Virginia a 1-0 lead. Game 2 is tonight at 6:30 as Virginia hopes to move on to the semis while Georgetown has other plans and hopes to extend the series to next week.
