4th Quarter rally leads to win over Nease
Trailing by 3 points heading into the final quarter, Ponte Vedra came alive in the fourth stanza to outscore the Nease Panthers 21-11 to win their 7th straight contest with a 48-41 victory. While 3 of the top 4 scorers on the season for the Sharks shot a sub-par 2-19 from the field, the winners showed their improved depth this season as a pair of Seniors came to the rescue. Jack Polian tallied a career high 14 points, hitting on all 4 of PVHS made three-pointers, while Rory Mayer netted a season high 10 and had 9 rebounds. Once again, the Sharks were led in scoring by Junior Luke Piris who led all scorers with 16 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Logan Ryan was the lone Panther in double figures with 13. Ponte Vedra will try to extend their streak to open the season at 8 straight when they travel to St. Augustine on Tuesday Dec 15th for a contest with the Yellow Jackets.
