Sharks Rally Past Fletcher Ponte Vedra rallied by scoring more than half their points in the fourth quarter to edge Fletcher 50-46 for their 14th victory against one loss. Luke Pirris had 13 and Nathan Bunkosky 11 to lead the Sharks scoring but it was the clutch 3-point shooting in the final minutes of the game by Jack Polian and JT Kelly that sparked the Sharks rally. The Sharks got off to a smooth start against the visiting Senators before the Senators went on a 14-0 run to close out the first half and take the lead at 22-15. Coach Kevin Whirity sent in the reserves halfway through the second quarter as the Sharks went the final 6 minutes of the quarter without tallying a single point. Shortly after the halftime break the Sharks temporarily regained their momentum as they went on a 9-0 run to take a 24-22 lead after less than two minutes had expired in the third quarter. However, the Sharks again went on another scoring draught, one that would last more than 8 full minutes before Nate Bunkoski would drill a 3-pointer two minutes into the final quarter. Trailing by ten points with but 6 minutes left to play, the Sharks finally found the range from outcourt. With Jack Polian and JT Kelly hitting a pair of long threes, coupled with a furious full court press that flustered the Senators, the Sharks went on a 15-2 run of their own to insure the victory. Sophomore Israel Nehu came off the bench to give the host Sharks a big lift with 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals. Lajae Jones with 21 and Javeen Myles with 14 did most of the damage for the Senators.
