Sharks Smother Bartram Trail 42-20
The Sharks went on the road and used their smothering defense to soundly defeat the Bartram Trail Bears for the second time this season. So tenacious was the Sharks defense that they completely shutout the Bears from scoring a single point in the second quarter.
Leading 8-7 midway through the first quarter, the Sharks scored 20 unanswered points before the Bears were to finally hit the scoring column two minutes into the third quarter.
The Sharks enjoyed a commanding 30 point lead early into the final quarter at 42-12 before the Bears could score the games' final 8 points against Shark reserves.
The Sharks had 21 steals against the outmanned Bears with the relentless Rory Mayer coming up with a career high 7 thefts. Alex Madson tallied 11 of his game high 14 points in the low scoring affair with Mayer scoring 8 hard earned tallies.
The win was the 16th on the season for the Sharks as they hope to notch number 17 Friday night when they host Westside High at the Shark Tank.
