Knights Spoil Cavs Home Opener
Friday night at South Carroll the Cavs were looking to rebound after being shut out against Westminster in week 1 by demonstrating their offensive fire power. The Cavs did just that scoring 21 first quarter points. The Cavs started the scoring with a 42 yard touchdown reception by Trevor Terpening from David Ringold. David Ringold would then hook up with Jesse Meetre in the first quarter for two more touchdown passes of 59 yards and 42 yards. The Cavs were leading 21-7 over Century at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was a differnt quarter for the Cavs as the Knights scored twice with the second score coming with 14 seconds left in the first half cutting the Cavs halftime lead to 21-19. The third quarter started out with the Cavs showing urgency to put points on the board. The Cavs took the second half kickoff and proceeded to have a six play and 67 yards scoring drive. David Ringold was 4 of 5 on the drive for 66 yards highlighted by two Christ Chastain catches of 24 and 25 yards setting up a 1 yard touchdown run by Roger Yohn. That would be the last time the Cavs would reach the endzone as they fall to Century 42-28 and fall to 0-2 on the season.
