Cavs Capture First Win!!!
The Cavaliers finally were able to get in the win column with a 28-7 win over the South Hagerstown Rebels. The Cavaliers got off to a quick start with recovering the opening kickoff fumble and connecting three plays later on a 25 yard touchdown pass from David Ringold to Evan Dayhoff. The rest of the first half would remain a battle of field position as the Cavaliers took a 7-0 lead into halftime. The Cavaliers came out with the ball to open the third quarter and proceeded to march down the field before turning the ball over deep in Rebel territory. The Cavs would get the ball back deep in Rebel territory again after a failed fourth down run after a bad punt snap by the Rebels. David Ringold would cap off the drive with a 1 yard touchdown run to make the lead 14-0. The Cavs were not finished as David Ringold hooked up with Matt Rennie on a 31 yard touchdown and also connecting again with Evan Dayhoff on a 13 yard touchdown pass. The Cavs defense played an oustanding game holding the Rebels offense scoreless until 2 minutes left in the game. Mike Matthews lead the team with 12 tackles. Jordon Leppo and Trevor Terpening had 11 tackles on the night. Jack McCarty and Mike Matthews each intercepted a pass on the night limiting the Rebles to only one completion the entire game.
