Pee Wee Shamrocks run over Rams 28-14
The BCAC Pee Wee Shamrocks hosted the East Meadow Rams this past Sunday. Captains Robert Kollmer, Cameron Manzi, Bobby Martin, Christian Paulich and Jordan Jessup called the toss and elected to have the ball in the 2nd half.
The Shamrock Defense started strong led by Safety’s Luke Hanning, Bobby Martin, LB’s Anthony Cimino, Steven Kenny, Robert Kollmer, DE’s Jordan Jessup, Michael Torres and DL Patrick Minihane, Charlie Bostwick, Mario Cimino, Liam Malsy, Matt Ostrander, Dionte Scott, Richie Wood, Cameron Manzi, Michael Krzyzanowski and Kyle Hilgendorf. On 1st down the Rams tried to run outside and were stopped by a gang tackle by the line. On 2nd and 10, Charlie Bostwick stripped the Ram QB causing a fumble recovered by Jordan Jessup. The fans were screaming “Go Shamrocks” as the Offense came out for their 1st possession led by QB Mario Cimino, RB’s Danny Hoff, Jordan Jessup, Robert Kollmer, WR Theo Stathis, TE Christian Paulich, OL Kyle Hilgendorf, Tyler Runolfsson, Michael Krzyzanowski, Anthony Russo, Keith Servello, CJ Galimi and Charlie Bostwick. Followed by excellent blocking Mario Cimino (24,5), Kollmer (20,1), Jessup (3,2) led to a 4th and 9 from the Rams 11, Danny Hoff followed his line and backfield on a sweep for an 11 yard TD. Jordan Jessup passed to Keith Servello for the XP.
The Rams responded by running the ball to the Shamrocks 11, Bostwick busted through and sacked the QB to force a 3rd and 4 but the Ram QB scored on a busted play to tie the game 7-7. The Shamrock Offense put together and impressive drive led by Theo Stathis (8 yards) and Hoff (32 yards) setting up a 1st and goal from the 10. Jessup ran up the middle breaking several tackles for a TD, Mario Cimino scored on a QB keeper to take a 14-7 lead. With 1 minute remaining the Shamrock Defense needed a stop. Rob Kollmer and Charlie Bostwick sacked the QB for 2 losses and the whole defensive line made a stop, end of half.
The Offense opened the 3rd quarter with their most impressive drive of the season. Kollmer (6,2,7,2), Paulich (7,7) and Jessup all ran up the middle gaining yardage and running time off the clock, setting up Danny Hoff for a 3 yard sweep and a 21-7 lead.
East Meadow came out, Jessup slashed through the line for a QB sack for a 2 yard loss but another delayed run by the Ram QB led to a 62 yard TD cutting the Shamrock lead to 21-14.
The Offense needed to score but the Ram defense was ready as 2 plays went for no yards and a holding penalty moved the Shamrocks back to their own 30. On the next play Hoff followed his big OL and broke several tackles for a 70 yard TD, Theo Stathis scored the XP on a QB keeper. The Defense came out ready to stop the Rams. Charlie Bostwick (2 sacks) led a whole defensive effort to force a Ram punt.
The offense started to run the clock down, Theo Stathis ran for 22 yards, Jessup (8yards) Kollmer (10 yards) setting up Luke Hanning for an 8 yard run as time expired and a Shamrock 28-14 win.
The coaches are proud of their team as they bounced back from a last play loss the previous week and gave 100% all of the time this week.
