ST. LAWRENCE 4 PLATTSBURGH HIGH 1 NORFOLK — St. Lawrence Central jumped in front with two first-period goals and defeated the Hornets in the opening round of the Norwood- Norfolk Tournament. Plattsburgh, which finished with a 31-20 shot advantage, got on the scoreboard early in the third period when Gavin Giroux scored from Paul Fine-Lease. “We had a 2-hour ride to the game and then the game got delayed by an hour,” Plattsburgh coach Jamie Reidy said. “We didn’t play well at all in the first period and had just one shot on goal. “We then played very well in the second period, getting 22 shots on goal. But we ran into a hot goaltender. We played real good hockey in the second and third periods, but gave up a couple of weak goals.” — St. Lawrence 4, Plattsburgh 1 Plattsburgh 0 0 1— 1 St.Lawrence 2 1 1 — 4 First period- 1, SLC, Jenkenson, 2:19. 2, SLC, Kowalchuk (Kocsis), 10:10.
