Freshman Tyler Reid’s last-minute goal supplied the second-seeded Hornets with a championship game berth. The third-seeded Cougars maintained a 3-2 lead late in the third period after goals from Kyle Vassar and Brady Lafountain. But Paul Fine-Lease rescued Plattsburgh, tying the game at 3-all with 5:08 left before Reid’s late-game heroics. “I thought it was a good game, for the most part,” Hornets coach Jamie Reidy said. “We had some horrible turnovers in the third period that cost us two goals and made the game interesting, for sure. Neither team laid down, and there was no quit from both teams, and it showed by the back and forth play in the third. “NCCS had a very good year and represented well. Games like that are tough to lose. We look forward to the Section VII championship game this upcoming Tuesday. “I would expect a great game against a very good Beekmantown team, which is playing well at the right time. Should be fun.” — Plattsburgh High 4, Northeastern Clinton 3 NortheasternClinton 00 3 — 3 PlattsburghHigh 1 1 2 — 4 First period- 1, PHS, Boule (Atwood, Julian), 10:39.
