The battle for first is all wrapped unless the cubs chock and go 0-3 which is not likely. With the tie breaker between the Cubs and Yankees going to the cubs they essentially have a 3 game lead with three to play. Look for the Cubs to want to put it away early with a win against the Spartans whom they have out scored 31-7 in three games. Their ace has thrown 3 straight complete games against the Spartans giving up no more then 4 runs. Unless the spartans can pull of a miracle Cubs got it locked. Though the Yankees won't finish in first second is on easy streak for them. With the X mark on First after the cubs beat the spartans, look for the cubs to rest their ace, the Yankees beat the cubs on Saturday to clinch 2nd. Even if the Yankees loose Saturday they clinch 2nd NLT Thursday against the Dodgers. The battle for the 3 seed is the big one and really between the Vipers, Cylcones, and Spartans. The Spartans will likely loose against the Cubs so it will take them out of it. Though the Cyclones have a 2 game lead on 3rd BUT they also have the Vipers, Yankees, and Cubs so 0-3 IS NOT out of the picture if the Yankees and Cubs want to play spoiler. The Viper Cyclone game on Saturday will be fun. However even if they loose, I don't see the Yankees or Cubs caring in the last 2 games of the season they will win one of those to and take 3rd. Now it turns into a battle for 4th or 5th. This is a bigger deal then thought with the the 4th place teaming having home field. I see this going down to the wire and determined on Saturday. The Spartans will likely loose against the Cubs and place themselves into a must win on Saturday if they want to be the home team. However they will easily beat Red Socks on Saturday and will finish 15-12. There is no way the Cyclones want the games against the Cubs or the Yankees to matter at all. Knowing that fact they will bring there A team on Saturday. They will beat the Vipers, then rest the last two games and finish 17-10. That leaves the Vipers and Spartans in a tie. The Spartans have the tie breaker beating the Vipers 3 out of 4 times this season. So the Spartans take 4th with the Vipers going to 5th. Does anyone else have a thought on how this goes down. |
