Something you may want to think about for next year. Not getting a point for a forfeited game makes sense since the game wasn't played but you end up penalizing the team that won the forfeit in the process as well. It isn't the winning team's fault that the other team didn't have enough players so I don't think they should lose a point. Also, I was wondering if a team not able to field enough players should be treated differently than a team that forfeits because they run out of players when it comes to the points. Despite the forfeit, the game would have been played as far as it could until someone was either ejected or injured ending a game. I remember playing for Windsor one year where we were winning by a good margin, we had made substitutions to get some guys into the game and Humpy got tossed from the game accidentally. It was accidental because one of the Sackville players was tossed earlier for throwing their helmet. Joel explained that throwing equipment was an automatic ejection. In the bottom of the sixth, Humpy struck out and slid his helmet from the just outside the batters box to on deck circle, and the Sackville team erupted saying that he threw his helmet and should be tossed. Joel not noticing that we had no more subs ejected Humpy more because he didn't think it would matter to us at this point in the game and that it would help control the Sackville team but since we didn't have any subs it cost us the game. Just throwing that out there because to me that's a huge difference between this and showing up for a game with 7 guys or cancelling at the last minute.

I think I found the mistake. I believe the Royals are supposed to be 2-19 not 3-18.

Thanks for the explanation on the points. The forfeit makes sense. I hate to be a pain in the ass but with the standings so tight for the teams in 2nd through 6th, someone may want to go through the games to verify the standings. Just looking at the overall standings, the total in the wins column is 83 and the total in the losses column is only 81. To me that sounds like someone was credited with a win who should have been given a loss.

Nothing shaddy going on just a last ditch effort to try to get in....Didn't work out no biggy! We had our chance on Saturday and came up a bit short. Congrats to our top three teams in AAA and hopefully we can put up three strong tournaments on lab day weekend.

I believe I've gotten all the totals. Teams themselves should double check. Don't forget if your had a forfeit because u didn't play means u don't get that point. If you won the forfeit its still 2pts for a win. Looks to me like Noel, Yarmouth and Pictou County Albians.

14.20. Intermediate Provincial Championships 14.20.1 Divisions will be broken down as follows: AAA – Top three teams from each of the NSIBL and MIBL (total 6 teams) AA – Next two teams from each of the NSIBL and MIBL, 2 teams from Cape Breton (total 6 teams) A – Remaining teams to a maximum of 8. 14.20.2 A host will be decided by the hosting league. A host for AAA will be submitted to Baseball Nova Scotia no later than June 1st. A host for AA will be submitted to Baseball Nova Scotia no later than June 7th. 14.20.3 Should the chosen host for each division be seeded in such a way that does not permit the team to play in the division they are hosting the hosting responsibility will be determined by the host league. a) Years ending in an odd number – AAA Host NSIBL AA Host MIBL Seeding deadline is second Monday in Aug. which is tomorrow. Where Shelburne is hosting A will they be allowed to honor that and another team lower in the standings move to AA,otherwise it would not be good for any teams who have declared as A.

What is the reason for the double forfeit of the two games between Royals and Shamrocks ? Unfortunate for a first year team.

Shelburne is hosting the A provincial so if they finding top 3 is it the next team that gets in?

My apologies, it was the Royals and the Gateways. If the game was forfeited without any playing the points awarded are 2 for the win and 0 for the loss. The extra point is to be awarded for games played. Forfeits are taken very seriously and can result in fines being levied and/or suspension from the league.

Albions didn't forfeit to the gateways? We didn't end up playing one game against Windsor due to field conditions in Bible Hill i believe in 1 pt awarded to Windsor the other was considered a rain out which we are trying to reschedule

In regards to the points in question, since one game was forfeited by the Albions to the Knights and was never played, the point awarded to both teams for playing was not awarded . Earlier in the year the Albions forfeited a game to the gateways when they ran out of players late in the game. Since that game actually was played the extra points were awarded.

Isn't it 2 points for a win and 1 point for a game played? Albions have played 18 games and won 10. 10X2+18=38. Windsor played 15 games and won 10. 10X2+15=35. What am I missing?

Your standings have a couple errors. The Albions should have 38 points instead of 37 and Windsor should have 35 not 34. Congrats on the over 35 championship! That looked like one hell of a squad.
